run-away golf cart... DANNI COME BACK!
so today started out just like yesterday. i seem to have found myself to be in a mundane routine already for this summer. i occupy my time working at a summer came for children with disabilities. our schedule is set and we did the same things everyday... but as you can imagine each day holds a new adventure. today's adventures were the most exciting yet -- granted, it's only the second day. the little girl i am to keep track of and play with all day forgot her swimming suit-- so naturally i had to come up with something else for her to do when the rest of the group was off frying under the blazing sunbeams mixed with the frequent splashes. so while being depressed about not being able to join in all the fun we decided to go mini golfing at the coolest place around-- cascade. we came, we played, and we left... not! our game was definitely the worlds record for the quickest. natrually with all the hitting, kicking and picking up the ball and dropping it in the whole. however, we made it through with no harm done to anyone or anything, it seemed impossible. the golf balls and clubs had both been returned and there was nothing but the short walk to the car left. but alas, what had to be sitting just there looking so tempting to this little girl? golf carts. natrually i can see why she did it, but man, did it have to happen today, right here right now? she ran for it, jumped on the cart and hit the gas. my worst fears were confirmed, it had been left on -- away she went. using my mad racing skills I managed to reach the cart before long and get my hand on the break. Thankfully nothing to drastic had happened aside from me nearly having a heart attack. However, it does make for a good story doesn't it. Just always remember that when you think your journey's neared it end, and you've made it safely home, expect the unexpected and enjoy the ride ;)
